Some advice for the beginners from the photographer of international interactive video project OpenLife!

Some advice for the beginners from the photographer of international interactive video project OpenLife!

Being a model requires good preparation, including - physical, because the shootings can take place at any time within many hours. But precisely this job mostly helps to create model’s image and promote a model.
One of the main rules used while working with the camera is that a photographer and a stylist are bosses! The main task of models is to realize their creative ideas at professional level. Don’t be surprised and objected, when a photographer does a shot in unsuitable, on her mind, moment, not to prompt, in what foreshortenings she looks better. A model must be able to pass from one position to another easily, saving the necessary emotional state. Before a session photographer or operator usually explain in detail, what they want to get from a model. However there are a few general recommendations which should be followed to obtain a good result at almost any type of session. But main requirement is not to be restraint! Usually there are many other people on a movie set (besides a model and photographer or operator there are assistants, stylists, visagistes, sometimes clients), but it does not mean that all of them are busy only to look after a model and her mistakes.
To make it easy to feel and to reflect the character it is possible to draw corresponding pictures in the mind creating a necessary mood (to reproduce words or situations which will cause the proper mien: gladness, surprise, sorrow et cetera)
The ability to feel luminosity and to follow the flash of light (if a photographer uses it) is very important. A photographer or operator certainly will mention if shadows cover the face but work is considerably simplified when a model understands how she and other objects in the frame are lighted up.
As a rule the aim of session is not to show the beauty of the model but to advertise some goods or company. Plots and even foreshortenings of session are agreed with a client in advance. A model should be informed what she will advertise & how she’ll do it. Nudity or half-nudity should be discussed in advance too. There is nothing reprehensible or immodest in such kind posing if this is stipulated by the features of the goods which are advertised (shampoo, soap, underclothes et cetera). In case if a model is asked to take her dress off during session she should discuss this question with an agency. If there are some rejections from plans it should not lead to implicit obedience of a model but definitely negative reaction is not good either! If this is a session for a prestige magazine with a prominent photographer it is impossible to agree all aspects in advance because most unbelievable ideas could come in an inspiration gust.
There are two methods of session. First one is when photographer and stylist, manage a model, prompting her different position of the body, turn of head, look, et cetera helping model to pose this way. In the most successful moment a model should be frozen on a signal and a shot is made. This method has the significant disadvantage. It is hard to obtain naturalness and dynamic quality of a plot.
Second method supposes more independence of model and demands the total control of her body. She improvises and experiments, using certain templates and set of standard learned before motions applying them to the specific tasks. A photographer catches the best moment to push the button. Of course you can waste tons of film using this method but the result can be incredible!
There is another case with the video shootings, where both direction and spontaneity are present. However, if you consider the features of models’ or actresses’ work in the environment is the reality show, we can see that most of the events in front of the camera just filming unplanned events, which subsequently must be harmoniously integrated into the prepared plots. In such a situation, model should show all her professionalism, to look at her best, in spite of the constant voltage and surveillance of cameras. This is particular art, which is different from just posing for photos.

The best choice is five walls and twisted ceiling. Also studio should have blind quiet microphone room with window. As well as glass is very “melodic” substance the window should be twisted also. Moreover glass plates in the frame should be unparalleled to exclude wave reflection and noise interferences.

This is the true! Many professionals use it and are very satisfied by reliable operation of sound systems based on Macintosh. Nevertheless Windows has a few important advantages also. Most PCs are designed for Windows hence most popular software for sound processing work with Windows only. As well as Windows is widely spread this allows to finish assignment started at one PC at another one if necessary. At the same time to find another PC with Mac could be not so easy!

Proper operation of all equipment (from connecting cables and coffee machine to microphones and computers) is extremely important for working under the pressure studio.

Staff

General Manager
Main General manager’s task is studio management at all. He (she) is responsible not only for paper work with contracts, current docs and briefs but also connect between customers and studio staff. And of course manager is responsible for studio profitability and control the budget.

Creative department
Depending of work volumes creative department could consist of either from one copywriter or from several specialists under the supervision of creative manager. All creative works in studio are their responsibility.

Production department
Similar to creative department it could include both single universal sound producer to fulfill all types of works with sound and few sound specialists every one with determined field of skills application under supervision of Head sound producer.

Technical support service
Sound production studio could not have full time employed technical support serviceman. This could be part time employed specialist. But he should be totally responsible for proper operation of all equipment and apparatus in studio and provide its regular tests and maintenance.

Performers
These is mostly freelance employees except may be 1-2 staff announcers (actors). And even the last ones don’t spend all time at studio. They just have their own working schedule. All voices are part of a studio voice data base. Studio voice data base is subject of permanent changing. The professional announcers are most often invited for producing audio advertisement. But for most complete applications (play or song soundtrack) actors and singers are invited.

Professional approach in the organization of our business makes it possible to obtain a permanent customer for a long time. The staffs of the production studios OpenLife, which are located all over the world, try to treat every order as the birth of their own child. That’s why the creation of this brand is widely known in the entire world and is appreciated so highly.

If there is one thing that can truly control the balance of speed versus quality in Vray it is image sampling. Image sampling is basically part of anti-aliasing.
This tab can take your renderings from 20 second quick tests to 30 minute high quality renders without having to adjust any other aspect of the rendering. They control anything from fine detailed textures, to glossy reflections and refraction, to aspects like depth-of-field and motion blur, all at once. This tutorial helps to make sense of each one and simplify the process, so that the user can easily control the quality of the rendering in the most efficient way.

Sample scene requirements: Max 8 or higher, Vray 1.5rc3 or higher. All textures provided except HDR. Users must provide their own HDRI for testing.

Web Development Tutorials on Firefox

images.jpg (4 KB)

Whether you are a professional web developer or a blogger trying to customize a website you probably know how painful it can be to memorize all those CSS attributes, HTML elements and the like.

Devboi is a Firefox extension that will solve just that problem. The extension will add a sidebar containing an extensive list of documentation related to CSS, HTML, PHP, JavaScript, Ruby on Rails and more.

The interesting thing is that you can download two versions of the extension, an online and an offline one. The online version links to the pages where you will find the tutorials while the offline version already comes with the package of documentation, meaning that you will be able to access it even without an Internet connection.
